What Causes A Line Of Prickly Spots On Face And Ear?

For 12+ months and 24/7, I had a line of ~6 prickly "spots" aross my face on top of my cheek bone. approx 1cm apart. They felt work They felt a bit like tiny glass pricks, noticed only when you lightly rubbed you finger across them. The line has now gone, with the exception of the last one, located near my ear, under my glasses arm, but not touching, that is ~3mm across that still feels rough and prickly. It has been there for 6 mths + and appears NOT to be changing in any way.

My Dr said it was nothing, and has no further interest in it, but it is there! What could it be.
