What Causes A Lump In The Mid Chest Upon Sitting Up?

Hi I went to sit up from bed last night and saw my stomach bulge out about the size of a baseball right in middle below by breast. It s the first time I have ever seen that and had my husband look at he said it was odd. I m not sure if this is something I should have checked out?
