What Causes A Lump Inside The Vagina Post Removal Of Transvaginal Mesh?

i just had transvaginal mesh removal of a posterior repair on wednesday. after removal of packing i noticed a walnut sized lump on the inside of my vaginal wall that is extremely painful and hurts as much as the mesh removal sites themselves. what could it be, what should i do about it, and should i be concerned? I contacted the surgeons office and was told it could be from the retractors used during surgery and it should go away on its own and would like another opinion. thanks
