What Causes A Lump With Redness Around The Areola?

I had noticed a small bump, Pimple like right near my aerola. I tried to pop it which did not work. Then the next couple of days i noticed a redness which was in a circle around my nipple. It is very sensitive and i belive the redness is becoming a larger area. Please advise.
