What Causes A Person To Pass Stools In Sleep?

Hello this question concerns my father. He recently had a bowel movement while sleeping and it s happened once or twice for about three days every night. Just worried. He s only 50 and I m currently serving overseas so I tend to get over cautious. It may be nothing but I just wanted to clarify. Please help
