What Causes A Rash With Brown Scabs On The Back?

A couple days ago I had a small red rash little bigger than a quarter just below my shoulder blade on my back it had multiple small whiteheads in it. I am not experiencing any itching or pain, today I noticed that they must have poped and now there are small brown scabs where the white heads were - have you heard of this?
