What Causes A Red Rash Under The Eye?

my girlfriend has woken up with a red burn like reaction under her eye, she says
it feels like its leaking, it started last night, and when i looked it just
looked like a small red sport but when she woke up it had developed, she says it
doesn't hurt unless she opens her mouth and it doesn't itch. please could you
suggest what it could be.
