What Causes A Sweet Smell In Nostril When Having High BP?

Well I have a sweet smell in my right nostril - bloody nose on that side. I had a scope done and the doctor did not see anything. This started in the end of Jan. 2015, in Dec I had a bad fall and fractured my arm in three places pulled my neck very black and blue from it. I am 68- over weight, have high blood pressure no change in meds, take thyroid replacement mine was removed over 20 years ago. Have had bloody nose right side only for two years off and on- it just starts and I have had nose cauterized. The doctor gave me meds for a sinus infection( even though not sure I had a infection), the smell is still there. When I had the scabs on my nose from the treatment smell was not so strong. What else can it be? Thank you
