What Causes A Thumping Sensation On Ear?

Hello, for about 5 days now I have had a thumping in my left ear. Also my doctor told me that I have some arthitis in my neck, and stenosis. Could this be due to the thumping in my ear. I have pain in my left shoulder and sensation going down my left arm to my thump. I was give muscle relaxers and pain medication with anti-inflamatory.
