What Causes A Tongue Lump With Soreness, A Residual Hole And Whitening?

I had a lump underneath my tongue, the location was near my molar, but next to my tongue. It then, within a few days turned into a large, what looked like to be, a canker sore. Then a few days later, it turned back into a lump. Now, it is developing a hole in the middle of it and it is turning white. Any ideas on what this could be ?
