What Causes A White Coating On The Tongue?

Hey i'm kinda embarrassed about this to see a doctor at the moment so i thought id ask here. i have this white coating on my tongue iv tried oil pulling but i was new to it and don't think i even used the right kind of oil i don't know how i got this and don't care really just want it gone its mild and looks as if i just got it at the start
