What Causes A White Powdery Substance In The Vaginal Lips?

Hi, Yesterday i had a biopsy on my viginal lips, the doctor noticed a white powder substance on the inside of the lips, she asked if i had used talcum powder down there. I have never used talcum powder, so I asked if it could be thrush to which she replied no. I am a bit bewildered.
