What Causes Abdominal Pain Along With Pain In Ribs?

My 5 year old son has had diarrhea since last night, and he has had abdominal cramping now he says his left side under his ribs hurts but not continuously and his buttocks hurts should I be concerned or keep giving him gatorade to build his electrolytes?
