What Causes Abnormal Bowel Movements With History Of Chronic Diverticulitis?

Last year I had a partial colectomy due to chronic diverticulitis. I have not had any problems since then. The past couple weeks I have had a couple bowel movements that were stringy and have had occasional pain in my left upper quadrant. I drink fiber daily and wondered if this could cause the stringy stools.
