What Causes Abnormal Pap Smear Result Post Ablation Procedure?

I had an ablation and DNC in november of 2013. In may of 2014, i apparently had an abnormal pap smear result (which I just was notified that I did not do a follow up exam) - anyway ........ what would cause an abnormal pap smear result within 6 months after an ablation procedure?
