What Causes Abnormal Vaginal Discharge?

This might be a little awkward but I just noticed today that there was some brown colored discharge on my underwear. I usually get that when my period is ending but i ended my period about two weeks ago. So it relating to my period doesn't make sense to me. What is it from?
