What Causes Absence Of Periods And Hot Flushes?

I am 43 years old weigh 70kg, and height 1.6m, had mitral valve corrected 21 years ago. I am taking 150mg. avapro for my Bp.
I have not my periods since the last 6 months. I started getting hot flushes. Should I be worried? Is hot flushes and sweat got to do anything with my heart condtion?
