I am 45, 5'9, 156 pounds and have no history of major health problems. I do, however have a history of vericose veins and spider veins on my legs. I have had the deep veins treated with a surgical laser procedure and have also had treatment with sclerotherapy and laser that was more for "cosmetic" reasons. I think the deep vein procedure was called EVLT and it was covered by insurance. It was done about a year ago and was supposed to give relief from vericose veins and also prevent new spider veins from appearing. Today, all of the sudden, I have a very achy leg and there are bright red patches about the size of a quarter that are spider vein clusters all up and down my left leg. I am on the first day of mentruation so I don't know if that is a factor in this but it seems very alarming and has not happened since I had all of the treatments above. I tried to call the vein doc's office to ask about this but they are unfortunately closed today. Have you heard of this happening so suddenly?
