What Causes Anal Itching After Having Brazilian Wax?

I recieved a brazilian wax a couple of weeks ago. Shortly after I noticed itching around my anus which I still have. Could this be the reason ? I have been rubbing the area, trying not to scratch and recieved a air blister on my perineum, which wasn't there long. I went to the ER and was told I was a small vaginal tear and was prescribed a topical cream. Is this normal ?
