What Causes Asthma Despite Taking Steroids?

Ive been told i have to work nights and i am worried as i have asthma and take steroids x2 daily Ive heard that due to a low immune system i can be excused on medical grounds. Is this correct and is there any evidence base that i can print off and back up my case. Thank you
