What Causes Back Pain After An Injury While X-ray Report Is Normal?

Hi ,
I slipped and fell on Ice . I went to the doctors and they took X-rays and reported nothing wrong . However it hurts to even move my back . They gave me some medicine but it only helps for a limited amount of time . What could be the problem ? And any tips on how to ease the pain?
