What Causes Bacterial Infection In A Child?

Heya My 2 year old todler has burts ear drum and doctor took swap and was given amoxicillin for 5 days. Today we saw doctor again and were given new antibiotic flucloxacillin to take for 7 days,because he had 2 different type of bacterias growing inside his ear. How serious it is? doctor mentioned hearing loss too
