What Causes Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo?

thank you a few years ago I had something that made me fill like the earth was moving under me. the doctor was able to just give me a couple exercises for it and it went away I was also dizzy. the name was like benign proxy something I think. do you know what I am talking about?
