What Causes Black And Blue Discoloration On Toe After Treatment Of MRSA?
Hi doctor, I has a staph infection (MRSA actually) on my big toe that was treated in January. It completely resolved itself after antibiotic treatment and healed nicely. I went back for a follow-up visit and there was no sign whatsoever of infection. All of that being said, the toe still looks black and blue around the area where it the infection was. I showed it to the doctor during my follow-up visit and he wasn t very concerned and explained that bruising would not be unusual and that toes can take a long time to heal completely. That being said, it s now been over three months since I completed the treatment and I thought there would be no sign of any bruising by now. The discoloration is not severe and ranges from light to a bit darker depending on the temperature, taking my shoes off, etc. Does this seem normal or of some concern?
