What Causes Black Dots Under The Skin Of Finger Tips?

Hi, I have tiny tiny black dots under the skin on my finger tips (mostly on the thumb) They are pinprick size. They can feel quite sensitive. The area around them is white. I had a wart many years ago that disappeared on it's own, I'm wondering if it's related? Or something else?
