What Causes Bleeding In Ear?

Yesterday I was cleaning my left ear with a q-tip and when I was done I looked at it and there was blood on it. I went through 5 or 6 q tips using each side of the qtip and there was blood on each one. I did not push the qtip in too far. It was a little sore but did not really hurt too much. It justade me nervous because I have never had my ears bleed like that before.
