What Causes Bloating Of Abdomen Along With Stringy Stools Post Appendectomy?

I had an appendectomy 3.5 weeks ago. I am now having new pain near my navel, although all of the outside stitches have healed well. The pain is on the left side where there was a large internal stitch. The dr. Rechecked me and said it seemed fine 3 days ago. The pain is worse and I am having a bloated feeling with gas and very stringy, bowel movements that look like worms! Is this normal?

I am an otherwise healthy 48 year old female 5 ft 3 110 pounds
