What Causes Blood Clot In Penis And Urine Blockage?

I had a blockage in urine and called an ambulance to take me to hospital , i was in high pain , then suddenly a jelly like blood clot came out of my penis and urine started coming out, I m wondering what was that? and why that jelly like blood clot was stoping urine?
