What Causes Blood Clot Like Patch On Penis?

I woke u this morning and noticed a bruise/bloodshot looking patch on the shaft of my penis about the size of a 10pence coin, it doesn't itch or hurt n I haven't had sex for about 3 days and have not accidentally knocked it either, please can you help? Many thanks
