What Causes Bloody Discharge From Belly Button After Back Surgery?

y brother has had 6 back surgerys from being hurt in a coal mine and a docotor implanted a 3 morphine pumps since he fell and now has a bloody thick substance coming from his belly button he was taken to the er where his dr does surgery the dr is out of town till next week and they told him he had a kidney infection and gave him eythermyocin to take we feel it is something worse could you please give your opinion to as what it might be thanks for your help
