What Causes Blotchy Spots On Rib Cage?

I have red blotchy spots covering rib cage. The worsen with heat and after I shower. Head and shoulders was recommended, but does not seem to work. Also has a burning sensations very rarely. What is this and what can I do to fix it? I am 21, 6' 3'', male, no major health problems.
