What Causes Blue Skin Around The Wound While Suffering From Leg Ulcer?

I am a nurse and today I have visited a patient with a leg ulcer who has been using flamazine for a long time the same pack well over 7days and has developed dark grey/ blue skin around the outer part of the wound. Could this be the long term use of flamazine?
