What Causes Bouts Of Dizziness?

I am experiencing bouts of dizziness which lasts for few seconds.. My routine hasn't changed n food diet is just the same. My bp is normal too. My doc has recommended a MRI scan n a EEG along with a xray scan for spondelitis .. Also I have been prescribed vertin 8 mg for two weeks. What could be the possible reason?
