What Causes Breast And Nipple Tenderness With Pain?

my left brest is tender, starts at the nipple mostly but sometimes it hurts alittle from the nipple to different sides of the breast, i have never had this happen before and i just finished my period about 1-2 weeks ago...what could be wrong ?
