What Causes Breathlessness And White Spots At The Back Of Throat?

I m a smoker but I have cut down ,but I m very breathless at the moment even in work ,my tongue is purple with some white spots on the back and my tongue and lips sting and for the last week and a burning sensation and I feel like I ve constantly got a lump in my throat or something there ,I work on a children s ward and I m terrified to ask one of our consultants to look ,I tried to get in my doctors today as it is becoming worrying now
