What Causes Brown Discharge With Light Spotting?

I started taking the pill but for the last 2mths I have forgotten to take it. I had my period about 2 weeks ago. Anyway about a week ago I lost brown discharge with light blood spotting. Afterwards I lost a thick sticky clear/white discharge. Today I experienced some period like cramping. I haven't lost any mucus/discharge or blood for around 3-4 days. I had unprotected sex maybe twice since I had my periods.
