What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge After Having Unprotected Sex?

I finished my period about a week agao. It lasted about 10 days, which is unusual for me. I have been under quite a bit of stress lately, so I assumed that was the issue. A week later I had unprotected sex and now I am spotting a brown discharge. What does this mean?
