What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge Along With Bad Odour Post Intercourse?

I have had a foul smell from my vagina and brown watery blood after sex which smelled vile, last night i removed a tampon which was lodged high up it was grey flat and smelled the same as my vagina?, was this the cause of nmy symptons ,- all the smell has gone from my vagina
