What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge Post Insertion Of Copper IUD?

Hi. I recently got a copper iud inserted 8 days ago. Since then I ve been having some pretty awful cramping and a brown discharge. To deal with the pain I ve been taking 800mg of Advil, which seems to work. Should I be worried or is this relatively normal?
