What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge While Having Irregular Periods?

Hello, i am concerned because i was suppose to start my period on the 4th of this month. However, it's been irregular 4 a few months. On wed the 8th, i started to have brown discharge like i would at the end of my period. I only see it when i go to wipe. Today would be the fifth day that i been seeing it.
