What Causes Brown Vaginal Spotting?

Hi Im turning 31. I have a very light spotting/ discharge for the past 3days. 1st 2 days is kinda pink now its dark brown and very light occasional cramps on my lower right side. regular menstruation period. next period on mar.18. no pain during urinating.
