What Causes Brownish Discharge And Abdominal Cramps During Menstruation?

Hi, I had my period last week and after going off my cramps seem to have never left..I have bad cramps in the lower right part of my stomach and seems to work its way up along the sides of my stomach and into my back. I also have a brown discharge. Do you know what could be going on?
