What Causes Brownish Vaginal Discharge Other Than Menstrual Cycle?

Have had brown discharge with sum bleeding but light for 12 days now. No symptoms, have taken a pg test but neg. I have reg periods. Was suppose to get my period around the 10th. This has never happend. Had a pap test done few weeks ago and everythng came back good.
