What Causes Bruise On Face?

My son awake this morning and said he didn t feel good but he went off to school. He said his 3rd hour teacher asked him what was on his face. He then noticed a bruise on his face, size of a quarter. He said it doesn t hurt and he don t recall anything happening today. Can you help me?
