What Causes Bruised Foot Along With Sore Toes?

I dropped a glass chopping board on my foot last week and the corner landed just above my 3rd and 4th toes. It is red and sore where it landed but it hasn't broken the skin and the rest of my foot is bruised. I had an x-ray done and nothing is broken however my foot is on a lot of pain. I find it difficult to put my shoes on and the back of my 3rd and 4th toe keeps going numb. I am wondering if I should give it another week and see if it improves or to get it looked at sooner rather than later ?
