What Causes Bruising And Tenderness Under The Armpit?

my right arm feels like it gave out, it was tender to the touch, not so much anymore, yet there is bruising under both my armpits. one arm is/was more sore than the other. and im not sure if this ties in with it but i also have my throat swelling up. is this a common cold or somrtyhing easily managable?
