What Causes Bruising On Knee Along With Swelling Around The Calf Area?

Four weeks ago I fell (into a half split) and hit the inside of my right knee on the asphalt. It hurt a little but within two hours was swollen 2 - 3 times normal size. Then came severe bruising from the inside of my knee around to the back and down my calf. I treated with cold then heat as directed. Today I have a burning sensation where I originally hit my knee, outside of my knee is still swollen and I have a rather large bump (goose egg size) on the lower front of my leg. I ve been to my doctor twice... what should I do now? I m 63 and in good health otherwise.
