What Causes Bulging Veins On Chest While Having Shingles?

I was just diagnosed as having shingles today. The doctor prescribed me Valacyclovir. Tonight I noticed for the first time that my veins are all of a sudden visible on my chest, shoulders, and arms and they never were before. I am getting a little freaked out. No chance of pregnancy. Any ideas? and anything I should be worried about?
