What Causes Bulky Uterus?

Hi, I went to the doctors yesterday to have a mirana coil fitted as I have been experiencing heavy periods. The doctors gave me an internal and said that I had a bulky womb and wouldnt fit the coil until I have been for a scan - I am really worried now, what could this mean?
