What Causes Bump On Buttocks?

I'm a 15 year old girl and I just noticed that I have a bump right above my butt. It doesn't hurt at all and I am taking birth control pills. I'm not sure if it's always been there, but my mother died of cancer so I'm curious as to if I should get it checked.
